Color Your Health with Antioxidants

Here we are, prime time to enjoy the best produce the Northwest has to offer. Get over to your local farmers’ market and pick-up some spectacular fresh produce. Save energy, support the local economy and local farmers in the process. You’ll also support yourself with having the most nutritious fruits and vegetables for your body and well-being. Check out the following fruits and vegetables and see what benefits they’ll provide. Phytonutrients are “plant nutrients” that promote health and prevent chronic degenerative diseases, a class of these are called carotenoids. Nutrition Labels for Beer, Wine May Be Next
The Beer Institute is announcing the Brewer's Voluntary Disclosure Initiative, participating brewers and importers will voluntary provide a nutrition facts type label on their products.  Information displayed will be serving facts with calories, alcohol per volume, calories, carbs, fat and protein, freshness dates, ingredients (or a reference to this information via secondary packaging or a website).  We may be surprised to learn which beers have artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners and/or preservatives.  Won't that be nice to know?
