Corn Ethanol

April 9, 2007

The price of corn has doubled and farmers are increasingly growing more corn over such crops as wheat and alfalfa.  As reported on ABC World News, the cost of supplying more ethanol to fuel our cars is affecting your grocery bill.  Corn is used to produce ethnanol.  The effects are widespread, it’s not just the cost of corn, cows feed on corn which produces beef and milk, corn fields taking over wheat fields will raise the price of bread and other wheat-based products.   Besides finding alternative fuel sources we still need to reduce our consumption.  Are your dollars going to pay for fuel or food?
